A brief exchange with a fellow blogger got me thinking about this topic. It’s not about him in particular, but it was the final piece that mentally fell into place for me. Why do we have to be so afraid of articulating our interests and experiences that fall outside of what the world perceives to be mainstream?
I’d long forgotten about being “Freshly Pressed”, that coveted WordPress publicity that says to the blogging world you are not just a good writer, but you say something worth reading.
I remember when I first started blogging I would read those who were Freshly Pressed and notice with longing others who had that badge on their pages. I told myself I wasn’t a writer and would never achieve such a blessing from the blogging powers that be. It didn’t stop me from wanting it, however. It’s taken me a long time to get more comfortable with doing something knowing I won’t be the best at it. Continue reading →
Molly and Domsigns have done it again – facilitated nominations, read tons of blogs, scored them all, and published their list of top 100 sex bloggers of 2016. Huge congratulations to Ferns for winning the top spot this year!! Please check out any new blogs you’re unfamiliar with: this is all about supporting our community and sharing the love!
I will be absolutely honest with you here when I reordered the list after scoring all the sites I was not in the least bit surprised to find Ferns at the top. She was No.10 on the list last year but in my opinion her rise to the number one spot is well deserved. She has been producing fantastic content for 8+ years and her writing continues to go from strength to strength. To be quite frank not many of us can say that. Even though her kink and mine are the direct opposite of one another her exceptional work always captures my attention and I think that is a huge testament to her writing which is frank, raw, gritty, intelligent and sexy as fuck. I hope you will all join me in congratulating her on the No.1 spot.
I’ve known this man for over two years. We met through our blogs – I no longer remember how. Despite a lack of appreciation for poetry, his caught my eye. His stories were hot, and he was a prolific weaver of words. He was a staunch supporter on my blog.
We became friends; he told me I was his muse, that he could barely believe a woman like me existed. He filled my inbox and my ears with a steady stream of poems and stories written just for me, and with promises that men like him existed in my real life. Those who would embrace the woman I was and support my desires without judgment.
I’m hoping you can all learn from my fuck-ups. And no, I don’t mean the recent relationship that ended really badly. Well, not the relationship part.
As I’m spending a bunch of time deleting content and figuring out how to keep other content away from the wrong eyes, it occurred to me that I, Ann St. Vincent, could provide a list of “what not to do” to keep your blogging content away from some of the people in your life.
Some of this also applies to you as a reader. You’d probably be surprised to know what I can learn about you when you engage on a blog.
Some of it may be obvious, but I thought I was safe and I wasn’t. Here goes: Continue reading →
This is a full re-blog of Molly’s Top 100 Sex Bloggers post that she put up today. A MASSIVE congratulations to my friend Hyacinth who is a well-deserved #1. I was also thrilled to see Ferns in the top 10 as well.
(And of course, I’m honored to be in the top 20).
If you don’t follow Molly, check her out. She’s an amazingly prolific blogger and wonderful supporter of the sex blogger community.
You may remember my post a while back asking you to nominate your favorite sex blogs for Rori’s annual Top 100 Sex Bloggers list. Well, unfortunately she couldn’t finish the awards, but sex-blogging-superstar Molly has taken up the cause.
There are so many amazing blogs out there and Molly has been incredible to take over this list, so please read her post here and nominate your faves!!
As you may have read a little over 12 hours ago, I was set to meet Fox this morning to give him his stuff (at his request). Pyjamas, a sweater, a KISS t-shirt, theater tickets. I included a little gift I’d bought for his daughter when I was away.
He had requested there be no “scene”. He wanted it to be very transactional – here’s your bag, here’s your book, goodbye.
Shortly after I wrote my last post – as in, about 10 minutes after I wrote it – I called Tony. At $2 a minute. I was so f*cking tired of how I was feeling and going crazy guessing what was going on.
He picked up the phone on the second ring. Without me saying anything other than “hello”, he expressed his frustration at not being able to reach me – that none of his texts went through (duh). He said for sure he would see me the next night, quickly followed by “I have to go…I’m at the game with Mark [his best friend] but will see you for sure”.
