I'm on vacation but not leaving you empty-handed

When this post goes up, I will be probably waiting in a terrible airport line, begrudging the fact that you can’t check in online with a group booking, and regretting my decision to not fly carry on (since I have to wait in a line anyway).

BUT I will be going somewhere hot and sunny and beautiful, with my son and almost twenty other family friends. A good time will be had by all.

I might write while I’m there, but the wifi is spotty and I don’t intend to write unless I really feel the need. I want to focus on my son and my tan and the ocean. I desperately need a break.

However, the thought of leaving my blog empty for a week doesn’t feel right to me. For a while I’ve been thinking about occasionally re-blogging some of my older posts, so that’s what I’m going to do this week.

Each day, I will link to an old post I think might be worth reading. I can’t re-blog in advance (at least not that I’ve been able to figure out) so I will give you the title and the link to the original, and a reason it might be of interest.

And who knows, I may decide to finish some old tales while I’m away, or discover new things I simply must say. Or I may be gone until next Monday.

It also means I won’t be reading your blogs either, so please don’t take my absence personally.

(Oh, and yesterday I wrote a post called “I feel a smidgen better” but I managed to take it down only 30 minutes after it got posted, and didn’t get it back up until 12 hours later… so read it, please, if you missed it).

Have a wonderful week.

  1. Enjoy!
I have been wondering about you, about the party and all these things, but I was caught up in my own BS and didn’t get to check.
Glad to hear that you’re doing better, that you’re getting a break and that you plan on focusing on whatever is happening there, without thinking too much about us.
We will be happy to get you back tanned, relaxed and re-energised.

  2. I wouldn’t mind a tropical vacation. Have a fun time with your son and stay off the blogs! We’ll get along for the time being (especially now that I have the keys to your blog).

  3. I don’t know what carrier you flew, but with Jet Blue, paying a few extra bucks per seat allowed us to cut the long ass line out of JFK at 6am Monday morning, and board the plan first. Was totally worth it.

What do you think?
