The perfect destination.

Last Sunday, a close girlfriend and I both found ourselves with no kids and no plans. She sent me a text asking if I wanted to go to get reflexology and a massage with her. Heck yeah. Our afternoon was lovely and completely unplanned – some relaxing treatments, dim sum, a new iPhone case, and a movie.

In the midst of our wanderings, I noticed this:

Love Connection

Could anything be more perfect for me right now? Dating Agency, Karaoke, and Make Up? We didn’t go – there was food to be eaten – but perhaps if things don’t work out for me soon, I will go back there.

          • There are so many great Hughes movies. Ferris is still my favorite. So many great moments. And it was the first time I’d seen an extra scene thrown in AFTER the credits (Yeah, I’m one of those people who stay for credits at movies.)

Hughes was ahead of his time. By the way, have you ever seen “Better Off Dead”? It’s not a Hughes movie (I don’t think), but it definitely feels like one. If you haven’t seen it, put it on your list — I promise you’ll love it.

          • Hahaha! All of our kids have seen that movie, and that mantra comes up often in our house!

Thanks for the clarification on the director, Will! I was pretty sure it wasn’t Hughes. But it was definitely in that vein.

          • Besides the tone and humor of that film and the similarities to John Hughes’ works, the actors in BoD are typical Hughes-esque castings.

Suddenly, I find myself in the mood for “Fronch Fries, Fronch Bread and Fronch Toast!”

          • Excellent!

I was thinking of a little Breakfast Club or Weird Science with my wife tonight!

My wife and I are serial film quoters. Weird Science is the source of many of our fun pokes at each other. Our kids think that we are insane.

          • Ha ha!! My kids need such a support group. What is funny is to see the lights go on in their eyes when they finally see one of our quotable films and hear the lines for themselves. Suddenly, we have additional people in our house popping off with lines (Hmmmf. Are we corrupting these poor people?).

          • Mine are pretty good with film quotes, though I’m not sure they’d fit in well with yours, since the movies aren’t always in English, and most of the ‘classic’ ones they know aren’t…

  1. Can I come too? I love to sing and I just may need a dating agency… I don’t know. I don’t know yet how long I can go without male interaction… sigh!

What do you think?
