D. H. Lawrence on Plenty of Fish

With great thanks to Exile on Pain Street for making me think about D. H. Lawrence this evening, I thought I would share my most favourite quote of his.

All those of you suffering through dating might appreciate it.

There’s lots of good fish in the sea…maybe…but the vast masses seem to be mackerel or herring, and if you’re not mackerel or herring yourself, you are likely to find very few good fish in the sea.
